To-Do's

Sat Jan 30, 2010, 7:22 AM
Bah, bloody to do lists. Things we tend to make, but generally ignore in the long run. Well, who knows, maybe this one will stick.

- Practice with tablet
- Practice with vectors
- Practice with 3DS Max (modeling and photo composites specifically)
- Find and post more of my photos from my San Jose/San Fransisco trip in '05. I know there's at least one photo I haven't posted yet that simply needs to go up
- Generate portfolio content
- Revisit and properly redo some of my old work(If there's one or two you'd like to see redone, post a comment!)
- Revisit that "100 Artist Challenge" thing I posted about in '08
- Do more fan art (holy crap does that stuff generate page views!)
- Draw more boobies (see above)
- Drop more hints about a possible web comic (again, see above)
- Acquire a proper digital camera and start taking pictures again ( [link] , [link] , and [link] were all done with a mooched camera)

(Un)smashing windows

Mon Jan 25, 2010, 10:54 AM
Well, after much scrounging around my suite (hey, my phone charger!) and research on the interwebs, I have got my tower back up and running. Now, if only I could find my flash drive and mooch a digital camera off of someone so I could get to work on this composite rendering...

Without fail...

Of course, as soon as I need to do a composite render, a virus eats my tower and makes it unable to even boot up. Where the heck did my Windows disk get to?

  • Playing: Darksiders (and DoW2, if the tower was still up)

Moved

Fri Nov 6, 2009, 7:57 AM
Well, I'm moved into the city now, and in the shuffle I've come across a handful of pictures I haven't gotten around to scanning and posting yet. Now I just have to go and grab those new photos I took next time I'm home and I'll be set. In the mean time, it's job hunting (again).

It has finally happened

Fri Apr 10, 2009, 7:14 AM
I am now officially a web-cam dice junkie. That's right, Dungeons and Dragons over the internets, with a tiny little web-cam taped to a lamp, looking down at the game table, so while I'm sitting up here in SK, I'm killing demons and the living dead down in OK. And I have to say, I think the first session went quite swimmingly. He's a little excerpt.

--------------

Me: Ok, my guy is new to the party here, and I don't know this guy. I want to figure out what he's up to.

GM: That would be perception.

Me: What does my passive 30 get me?

*general laughter at the table*

GM: While to everyone else it sounded like "I don't know who you're talking about", to you it sounds clearly like "I'm lieing."

*more laughter at the table*

Me: Move my mini forward a few squares, towards the man on the throne.

Me (in character): The Raven Queen knows all things come to an end, this deception before your life.

--------------

I'm playing a half elf who is an invoker of the raven queen (invoker being the class, and the raven queen being his diety) with the cursed background as a base. Between the cursed background and several feats he's picked up (Grim Promise, Sickening Finish, and Brutal Finish all come to mind) all his spells and powers manifest in darker and grimmer fashions. Thorn whip, for example, is a druid power that he picked up via his half-elf racial. Instead of sending out vines to grab and pull the target, though, strands of shadow burst out the end of his staff instead. As he has since multiclassed into druid, his wild shape (which would turn a normal druid into any beast from the material plane or the feywild) turns him into beasts from the shadowfel, with his cursed wound manifesting in the new form.

All in all, it looks like it's going to be a fun campaign, especially given that there is an Avenger in the party who worships the Raven Queen as well, and the party's wizard has a small cult of necromancers tucked away in the basement of the party's home base. Hilarity ensues.
